Aim of the Training
To develop an understanding of the specific issues for those who have been
raped or sexually assaulted at sometime in their lives.
Objectives of the Training

To consider the
nature, attitude and prevalence of sexual abuse
·
To examine the
immediate and longer term impacts
·
To identify ways
to deal with disclosure
·
To become
familiar with police and court procedures
Learning Outcomes
On completing this training
participants will
- Have an increased understanding of the complexities surrounding those who
have experience rape or sexual abuse
- Recognise the difficulties for those disclosing
or reporting rape or sexual abuse
- Know how to cope with disclosure of rape or
sexual abuse
- Be aware of the importance of good practice in
the work place
- Appreciate the roles of other agencies and
inter-agency working

All staff from the statutory
and voluntary agencies who work directly with women and young people
